426 pack Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I found 6 leaf springs in a box of random parts and was wondering what kit they are from and how they look put together as I would like to make them work on a project of mine.
plastic trucker Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) They kinda look like 1/3 of the Revell GE Peterbilt air ride setup. Edited January 25, 2019 by plastic trucker
chitownbri Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 They're from an Italeri Freightliner FLC kit. But Italeri used the basic Freightliner frame in most of their U.S. truck kits.
Force Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Yes they did, all of them except for the Peterbilts and the Volvo VN. You can find the same type suspension on the AMT Peterbilt 352 and the small window 359 kits as Peterbilt used the Stabilaire suspension in the 60's, later Freightliner took over the Stabilaire and Peterbilt did the Air Leaf suspension instead.

Correct. The Western stabilaire was also an option on the Dodge Bighorn however only the prototype was built with it. The prototype bighorn is in the process of a ground up restoration by a bighorn collector in Georgia.
