Repairing 1968 Promo Car with Styrene Question

Recommended Posts

I bought an MPC 1968 Promo car with a few missing parts and an area of body gone. I can fix it with parts of a currently-available model kit. Is there a glue that will adhere to both materials: promo & kit styrene?

I did search for previous threads on the subject but what i found only dealt with acetate promos.

By '68, promos would have been styrene or ABS, a tougher version of styrene. MEK solvent-types of liquid cement should work fine, as will CAA (superglue-type products) and epoxy.

Okay, Doc. I have all of those things. I would prefer to melt the pieces together so i'll try MEK first. Thank You
