TarheelRick Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Looks like there is still some lean to the roof pillars, but they should be simpler to get straight. That one is buildable. I may have to give this a try on my '66 Fury III. For some reason when I shot it with some Duplicolor, the left front fender did a bit of a nose-up attitude.
crossfire 2004 Posted March 11, 2019 Author Posted March 11, 2019 (edited) The roof pillars straighten when the windows are fitted and it looks fine - I was reluctant to mess with them in case they snapped and I created even more problems. However, you now have me thinking about a convertible el Camino.... Edited March 11, 2019 by crossfire 2004
DamonD Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 late to the party, but I just bought an AMT GT350 shelby model kit and the body is twisted. grumble.. I'm going to try the block/heat freeze method. thanks! d
DamonD Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) This was my solution to the warped body issue. I live in Arizona, so I strapped it to a piece of brick nice and flattened out, and set it out in direct 110 degree sunlight all day, then brought it in and let it cool for a few hours. it did stay straight.
