Seann Anderson Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I have a ways to go, but this is one of my first attempts using putty to fill in the voids, etc. For those of you who have done this before, I think I may have gone too thick with the material used to create the slab-side? Or should I just continue to sand until the body and slab-side addition are flush with each other?
Shadetree Modeler Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Looks good from what I can see. Just continue to sand until you are satisfied.
MarkJ Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 I did a lumina once and i think I filled in the void with styrene sheet mostly and then with putty. But just keep on sanding and make sure you are using a sanding block of some sort instead of just paper and your fingers..
MarkJ Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Check your private messages. I found some pictures of my slab sided lumina in progress.
Seann Anderson Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Mark, thank you for taking the time to send the reply. It seems like the sanding block is the big thing I'm missing.
MarkJ Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Yes, it really helps to get the surface flat instead of wavy.
