RodneyBad Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 WTH!!! Too much Alcohol? I don't think I'd get that close to a running blower again.
Eshaver Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 it's weird watching that for sure! this is why blowers have retaining straps and blankets on them. i do want to know why it came off like that just at idle or at a low RPM, most you see come off are at speed under power. it reminds me of a video i watched one time of a guy mounting a 16.5" tire on a 16" rim and having it explode and come off when he was filling it with air. took his head right off. DaveDave, were you working with me when the same thing happened at Capital Garage here in Richmond Virginia? Yeah we had 15 foot ceilings in the place. when Virginia Commonwealth University came over to buy the old place in 1993, the tire mark wa sstill visable on the ceiling! As for the fellow working on the dragster, how did he retain both his hands? Ed Shaver
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 What's goin' on... Not a dragster but a Bel Air w/ a tunnel ram and a pair of double pumpers back fired on me. To make a long story short I smelled burnt hair!

Dave What's goin' on... I also know what an 11R24.5 (truck drive tire) feels like when the sidewall explodes (zipper break) less than a foot away. 110psi. I lucked out it only broke my arm and wrist in three places. (not being a smart ass when I say "LUCKED OUT")
