color sanding help

I painted this with Aztek Acrylic and color sanded it after 3 days ( that is what the pics are of) and not sure if I sanded it good enough or to much and was told if I pour water on it that what it should look like after you clear coat it so poured water on it it look to be clean and glossy, not the case!! after clear coating it with MM acryl clear gloss. Even after clear coating it I tried to wet sand with 2500,3000,5000,7000 and then tried to polish it with Novus 2 and 3 and it looked like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH I could see the rough texture still, so I stripped it and re primered it and waiting now to paint it. So my question is there a video out there on what your acrylic paint job should look like after you color sand it or any advice to help me out with this issue. So any advice, links to a video or a certain modeler's site that that would help me. Thanks again I appreciate all the advice this site is pretty awesome.
