As a hurricane veteran I'm carefully following Ike. For us here in the Caribbean, following hurricanes is almost a sport.

To my friends in Texas and other parts in danger, take it from me: Don't be a fool. Get the hell out of its path.

This is a really dangerous hurricane because of it's shear size. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. And Please be safe.

We'll be praying for you all.

Thanks,

Agreed. I'm grateful that it seems that it won't touch San Antonio, but Houston, et al...GET THE HECK OUTTA THERE!

Please.

Thankfully, we are getting spared here in San Antone. There is a ton of overtime for us fire guys if we want to work evac shelters though. I used to live in Galveston, and that town isn't going to exist by tomorrow. My prayers go out for those in Ike's path. Any Houston area modelers heading this way drop me a line. Take care.

As A former resident of the great city of Houston, my heart goes out to the victims there. I lived and of course I owned Art-Forms Design on North Freeway there We made custom Van accessories in the Day and I lived through two tyornadoes while I wa sthere I know what its like to have everything destroyed via Huricane as I survived Agness here in Richmond Virginia in 1972. Everything I owned in cludind a letter from Bud Anderson to me asking my opinion as to what A M T should do for models was destroyed there! It all went down the Jame River. Yes, I know all about hurricanes, get otta Dodge while ya can and Pray to the god of youre choice! Ed shaver

Thanks Ish.

My family and I are in Rockwall, Texas, north of Dallas. We were going to ride out the storm in our home just north of Port Arthur but as the storm surge predictions got worse and worse we headed out and I'm glad we did. The electric grid is down in our area and the early estimates to get it back on is two weeks to a month!

Hopefully we will get some help from FEMA for housing until they let us go back home. This hotel is going to get expensive!
