Revell 1/16 scale New Hawaiian vs. Old Hawaiian

Can anyone tell me if the parts from these two kits are interchangeable? Specifically, the wheels and tires. I have several older kits that need the tires to be replaced. Can I use new tires on the older wheels/rims?

Well, basically, that is the biggest difference between the two is the wheels and tires. The original issue has the soft tires and Cragar Super Trick Wheels, the new one has the E.T. Mags and all new tires. 

I have not tried the new tires on the old wheels.

New tires have a bigger inside diameter than the old tires, wheels fall right through the new tires.
