Arii Mercedes 450SL 1/24

Wanted to get some info on this kit. I know Arii is hit or miss as far as scale fidelity and detail. Anyone have this kit or have built it in the past? If so, what are your impressions?

This one looks like a "miss," though I've never built it.  Here's a current eBay listing with parts photos and the instructions. It's an old motorized kit with a battery box built into the chassis.  It does have opening doors and hood. The old ESCI 1/24 450SL kit might be a better place to start, if you want a 450SL.

Looks like the same series as the 76 Thunderbird kit. The Bird electric motor chassis  and while I have yet to get the ruler out and look it up...seems larger than 1/24....it's HUGE!
