Here's a R/M 48 Convert that had me busy for a while.

I didn't much care for the mile high stance of the kit suspension so I swapped in a modified dropped axle from the 37 Ford kit and then lowered the rear a little. Wheels were made by cutting the chrome outer rims from the "Revell" mags in the kit and placing the painted 48 centers behind them. Paint is Testors Turquoise and Gunmetal grey/Pearl chassis and engine.

Here it is compared to a stock 48 Woody. Unfortunately in this kit the same suspension is supplied for both the stock and the custom version.

I think it is the same in the Goodguys version as well. One downside is that the decals were rubbish and just fell apart in the water. I managed to rescue the license plate

Super fine build! Nice clean work on that Motor City Flathead. Excellent use of the old gray matter for the wheels.

Great color choice too!

I'm thinking one of my next projects will be a body-off resto of the ProModeler '48 convertible I built about 10 years ago; your build is inspiring!

Hello there friend! That drop top's a real head turner love the paint color! reminds me of the cars in the backyard of the Karate kid movie.. Awesome and clean build-up fella!!!
