cobraman Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 My first gas job was at a Texaco service station . Remember service stations ? I filled the gas , washed the windows and checked the oil . Also checked tires when asked . Times have changed ! Anyway , I thought I would build a Texaco gas truck . This is a 1/48 scale kit with a multi piece body . I built one of these many years ago and it wasn’t pretty . This kit was issued years ago and was either a Revell or Aurora I can’t recall . Hopefully this will come out better than the last one .
PierreR89 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Nice. I have always wanted to build one of these just to have something more odd then those i have. (Hard to find anything more odd looking then the Lonestar) This kit was just rereleased again or am i wrong?
cobraman Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 Yes, just released by Atlantis. Pretty nice kit for it's age but multi piece bodies are always can be an issue.
TECHMAN Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 ??? I remember doing one of these kits too, WAY back when..... I think we're giving away our age Ray!!!!! ? Hope the "multi-part" cab goes together well for you!!!! DJ
cobraman Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 Thanks DJ. So far no huge problems with the cab but it's not done so...................
bigred63 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Don't forget, there was a Kenworth with flatbed trailer and an Honest John Rocket load too! The Kenworth pops up every so often.
cobraman Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 Made some progress on this little truck . Getting there but still lots to do .
cobraman Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 Got this model just about done . Still need to install the compartment doors and do some touch ups . All in all not bad for an old kit .
