NASCAR 1957

Thinking of starting the Revell '57 Chevy and Ford NASCAR versions, and I had a question.  Did cars in those days run some sort of headers?

Any responses welcome, and thanks!

Don't think the Chevies did.

The 1957 Competition Guide mentions exhaust manifolds but not headers.

This example is clearly running non-stock iron exhaust manifolds. Maybe made by Fenton?
