how did you get that hood, it's perfect and a great detail

on this monster. the engine bay is going to stand out with

that big twin cam and big intake.

the only thing I don't like is the chrome rims, but that is just me.

Factory rims like the cobra are dull in color or brushed aluminum.

I just would like this project to look more performance than a

street cruiser.....but it is your baby, GO WITH YOUR IDEA

thanks for sharing, GO FORD GO!!!!!!

Thank you very much 3men2s!! yes i agree, about the wheels and that is in the plans down the road, depending on what color i decide will depend on the color of the wheels!!! but they will not be shinny chrome.. i am just mocking up all the changes i am doing first to make sure everything will work out.. then i will start to chip away at the finer details!! for the hood i just squared off the cobra hood then marked the outline of it on the fairlane hood and cut it out and glued it to the fairlane hood and then a little filler and sanding!!

I wasn't too keen on this at first 'cuz this isn't my style..............but I LIKE where this is going!

That engine!.............Talk about stuffed to the gills!!

As far as your hood dilemma I would keep it, but change the rounded scoops to "NACA ducts".

That might give you the edginess and squareness you need.

thank you MrObsessive!! excuse me for being dumb, but could kindly explain a "NACA duct"!! it would be greatly appreciated!!

Here's a pic of a carbon fibre NACA duct........I think they look neat because they'll sit flush on the hood and suit the shape of the hood a bit better than the rounded ones.

Now you'll have to scratchbuild these perhaps.........the toughest thing would be to keep them symmetrical. There may be some aftermarket resin ones out there you could graft in, but I don't know who makes 'em.

MY SUGESTION ABOUT THE HOOD,

YOU ARE TRYING TO INCORPORATE AS MUCH FROM THE COBRA TO THE FAIRLANE

AND THE HOOD WAS THE FIRST THING i RECOGNIZED. don't TOUCH IT.

YOU COULD EVEN INCORPORATE THE BIG FOG LIGHTS ON THE BUMPER.

AND PAINT THE BUMPER SAME AS THE CAR. IT WILL REALLY SCREAM COBRA.

ABOUT THE COLOR, CHECK WHAT COLORS THEY CAME FROM FACTORY.

AS FAR AS I REMEMBER, BLACK, RED, FUNKY PURPLE COLOR THAT CHANGES, SORRY I DON'T

KNOW THE NAME. FOR THAT YEAR 95-96.

I KNOW THAT THE GT CAME IN MORE COLORS LIKE THE ASTEK GOLD, YELLOW, DEEP METAL NAVY
