djway3474 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 This thing was horrible. I had to repair the chassis and I had to scrounge a lot of parts from a Lindberg kit that looked very similar to the origional parts. The entire motor and front suspension were scavanged and many chormed parts are now Alclad. John Goschke Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Awesome restoration work! Especially the repair work to the frame: a very fragile part of this kit that's almost always found broken. What kit is the front axle from? Looks like it's got a little more drop than the BW piece, giving your model a better rake than the original!
carrucha Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Good job on the restoration. Last month at the Billetproof Car show in Antioch CA, I saw a real '27 Ford built to look like the Black Widow model car kit. carrucha

I don't remeber which lindberg kit it was but it was a fairly recent release with a photo of the model on the front. I attached the front axle to the frame by drilling holes into both parts and using brass rod as a connector to I got it down as far as I could. Edited November 1, 2008 by djway3474
RodBurNeR Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 sweet! always liked this car, hard to get one these days. i hope it's re-issued. did you know that it's being built 1:1 ? the car is inspired by the model kit, too cool!
