Len Woodruff Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Who was doing a new small block hood & seats to convert the Revell 67 Vette to a 66 Vette? Whats the status?
7000in5th Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Hi Len, Not aware of a current 66 Corvette project, but I just sold some Corvette items to Matt and Dawn, the new owners of Spotlight Hobbies, last week and it included this Perry's Resin 65 conversion. The seats are not quite right for a 66 but the small block hood has the 'one year only' 66 Corvette emblem. Not sure when they will get it in their catalog or on their eBay list, but you could contact them if you are interested. Regards, David

At least the fender vents are right and if the hood has the Corvette logo on it, that's great! You'd still have to convert the rocker trim or add the factory side exhausts. The gas cap won't be right for '66 but that might not matter to some. The Corvette emblem on the rear deck needs to be changed to the '66-'67 style, too. This could be grafted in from a Revell body, or maybe it's available in photoetch. I can't tell what the grille in that set looks like but if it's really for '65, it's the '63-'65 style. The '66 had the "egg crate" grille similar to the '67. The Revell '67 grille could perhaps be adapted to the AMT body.
Len Woodruff Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 Thanks for the heads up about this. I will be on the lookout for this.
