ScrappyJ Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Here are some pics. of the last of my mostly scratch-built bikes. I completed this one to show in the internet theme at the ATL NNL. This one wasn't as involved as the other two as the motor is mostly from the 1/18 diecast. I did cut the jugs off of the engine block/case and then I carved out the push rod tubes and the lifter boxes. This one was done as an Ode to Billy Lane, however, was started prior to his most recent and unfortunate mishap. Hope you guys like it:
Daniel Peterson Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 (edited) I'm not "bike guy" as such, but I have to tell you your build-up is pretty much breathtaking. It's the picture of a solid concept expertly executed and oozes top notch craftsmanship. Hats off! You're not so bad with a camera either, from the looks of things. Raul_Perez Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Nice build, Dirk!! All of the details, (brake, oil and fuel lines), look GREAT!! I'm also glad to see that you put a wash on the cylinder fins. It really makes them stand out! Keep up the GREAT work and thanks for sharing!! Later,
Peter Lombardo Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Great looking bike...if you didn't say it was a model, you could fool many into thinking it was the real thing. Clean, sharp and well executed. Very nice.
