I have a friend called Dollar. He built this one sometime in the sixties. He and this other guy were quite well known for their models. They had a club called Scuderia Hot Rod Mechanics.

I got to know him in 1974, and he was a biker, car guy and model builder. Still is. Well, he gave me some of his old models, and this was one of them. It's been with me probably 30 years now. Maybe about time to fix it up....?

It's painted with AMT lacquer, a deep candy red.

The interior. Buckets from the '49 Ford, and the custom dash from the '58 Impala.

Engine, a 392 Hemi.

I am digging this! I hope you just keep it the same way and breath new life into it, but it's yours....keep us posted!

Thanks for your positive comments guys! I was thinking about changing the seats to four buckets from the '57 Ford.... but then I thought: "naw, I'll keep it like Dollar built it, just smooth the rear seat some, so that V bar fits better. Maybe add some T'nR to the package shelf. And some flock to the floor.

That's beautiful. One of my first cars was a 56 Victoria, but it looked nothing like that. I was black and white, had the thunderbird engine and my brother and I ended up rolling it several times trying to take a tough turn while cutting classes, lol. Thing is, it still ran after rolling twice. of course it was destroyed, but we were amazed we were able to limp it home. I won't go into detail about what happened when we limped it home. Lets just say, our Father wasn't happy with his sons that day

I've come up with an idea to fix the rear seat. Looking at the way Dollar painted it, I think he was trying to mimic the pattern of the front buckets. So I thought, why not graft the pleated panels from another set of buckets into the rear seat...? That must be perfect, don't 'cha think....? B)
