The Creative Explorer Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Ok, so I popped up a question in the roadster contest topic and I would like to put down my vision. What if....We held our online modelling contest? Build a certain themed build in a pre-defined time. We could put our skills and knowledge to it and most of all; help other builders out with problems. So it will not just be for the wins, ( since there is nothing to win ) but for fun and fellowship. If Gregg seems this idea possible, I would be willing to host the contest and help out making it possible online. We could held 2 contests each year, where each contest has a duration of 5 months and 1 month for voting. The winner could end up with an article in MCM. The themes could be widely varied, from pre-war hot-rod's to modern day tuners.... Would anybody interested in a friendly contest? Sharing their knowledge and skills? Build something out of their league? Please add a reply and hope that the G-man finds it interesting
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 It's a great idea, Steef. I would like to add my encouragement for this... I'm in!
Smart-Resins Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 That is simular to a build off isnt it? I know they had that for the RM choppers and for rails not too long ago?
aafcfan Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hi all, I would rather see us do a group build rather than a contest due to the fact that everyones skills are at different levels and with a group build you could build at your own skill level without trying go beyond your skill level to compete. Just my opinion.
