Thor
Thor Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 thanks for the tip. i`ll check that kit. It may be a 462cid but it looks the same. some parts even interchange Thor
bigphoto Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I am not sure about it but the AMT recent Edsel kit may have the 430 Also Archer Transfers makes wood grain surface detail http://www.archertransfers.com/AR88012.html
Harold Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) I believe that the old Lindberg (nee AMT) '34 Ford truck had a 430 in it. The '65 Lincoln has one, but you have to fill the hole in the block. The engine in the '58 Edsel is an FE advertised at 360 CID ( a 352 with an overbore, most likely. bigphoto Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Thanks for the Edsel info. Another source for the MEL would be the optional engine in the 25 Ford Roadster.

Thor I think Missing Link Resin makes a resin version of this engine. Here is a link to the website and you can e-mail them. Missing Link Resin
bobss396 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 IIRC, the old (soon to be reissued) double T kit has one in it. They are slightly different from the 332-427 Ford FE line and deffo look better in hot rods. Bob

Thor The three MEL engine in 1/25th scale are from the AMT 1925 T Double Kit, the AMT 1962-65 Lincoln Continental (the '65 has been reissued a number of times and has some pretty cool engine accessory parts), and the AMT 1966-69 Lincoln Continental (even through the real car switched over the the MEL series 460 in 1968 1.2). Missing Link does a nice repro of the 1966 Continental MEL. You can see these engines built up on p. 24 of the June 2007 issue of that other model car mag. TIM

TIM Actually, the 460 was a new 'thinwall' design big block in the '385' series, but I still enjoy all the stuff you've written over the years . Merry Christmas.
