Frank Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Yes it's a 28 model "A". It's kitbashed from two Monogram Early Iron kits, a 30 model touring and a 29 roadster pick-up. Both bodies were cut just behind the front doors and the back of the touring body was grafted to the front of the pick-up body. the guards/fenders were a bit of a problem as the fronts are different years, but a bit of cutting and grafting overcame this problem. The reason for the kitbash is that no one does one in 1/24 1/25. The reason for this build is because when I was a lot younger than I am now I owned a 1:1. this is built to be a replica, hence the 32 wheels and no front bumper. A very bad pic of the 1:1 And this is what is happening to the other 1/2s. No one does one of these in scale either.
carrucha Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Nice work on the conversion. It's cool when you can accurately build a model of a car you own or have owned. carrucha
CB Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Nice work on the 28, Frank. Ditto what Carrucha said. Years ago I built a model of my '95 S10 long bed pickem up, using two kits so I could make the kit shortbed into a longbed. Might've been a '94 S10 kit, but close enuff for me. It might still exist, but if'n it does, it's probably in my ex-wife's curio and I aint real keen on seeing her again anytime soon. Aint got the 1:1 anymore anyhow, so...... Oh yeah, one question---how's come yer model aint black & white like it is in the photo?
