carsntrucks4you Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 It is a bit quite on this quiz. Here a hint. The car had replaced a car that was named after a german low mountain range and it was build before and after the war nearly unchanged.
carsntrucks4you Posted August 23, 2021 Author Posted August 23, 2021 The solution for this quiz is a 1939-42 Ford Taunus G93A / 1948-52 Ford Taunus G73A. It is called Buckeltaunus in German or Hunchback-Taunus. I principal the pre and post war version were the same car. The in the picture is a 1950 G73A. Interesting to know is the fact that the first prewar Taunus bodies were assembled at VW in Wolfsburg and Karmann in Osnabrueck due to the lack of capacity and space at the Cologne plant. Ambi-Budd in Berlin was the original manufacturer of the body during pre war times. After long negotiations with the soviet military authorisations the tooling was sent to western Germany. After the war only Ford trucks wer manufactured in Cologne The correct answer were sent in by otherunicorn dw1603 Bucky Matt Bacon Richard Bartrop matthijsgrit Blunc DonW gbtr6 VW93 Congratulations
