Scale-Master Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Costa Mesa Fairgrounds, Costa Mesa California. http://www.cruisinforacure.com/model_car_contest.htm Email me direct or post here if you would like any more info. And NO, I DO NOT ENTER THE CONTEST, I just run it. Here's some of what we are giving away as awards, plus a bunch of trophies and other goodies including subscriptions to Model Cars Magazine. Thanks Gregg!
Ken Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Wish I could make, as there is nothing I would want in that picture  Nope, not a single thing in that picture interests me    best of luck on the contest. Are you entering the car that you shrunk??
Scale-Master Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 As I mentioned in the post, and just to be clear: NO, I DO NOT ENTER THE CONTEST, I just run it. Hope some of you can attend.
ismaelg Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Mark, Best of luck with the show. Looking at the contest web page, what does "No sweeps" means? I'm not really familiar with shows or contest rules. Thanks,
Scale-Master Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 Thanks Ismael. No Sweeps, as we apply it, means if you have more than one entry in a given category, only the model we choose as your best entry will be eligible for an award. Even if you enter three models and they are the best three in one category that has say seven models, you'll only get the 1st place. We do encourage entrants to spread out their entries into as many acceptable categories as possible.
Ken Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Sorry mark, just making a comment about how incredible your 7 is. I knew you weren't entering, I was just throwing a friendly jab your way. I did not mean to offend. Hope you have a great turnout.
Scale-Master Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 It's not that it offended me Ken, no worries there, I just did not want anyone to not come thinking I might enter. That just wouldn't be right. And thanks! But I will have "it" there to show some other modelers, if anyone wants to see it in person, just ask, I'll get it out...
Steve Keck Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Beautiful cars great models - 1/24 that is great fun good friends great prizes!
Scale-Master Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 Not just 1/24, we have large scale and small scale categories too... And we are in Southern California, not far from the coast, and the weather is nice...
Steve Keck Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 HA! I was speaking of 1:1 models as in 36-24-36 DD!
