Lyle Willits Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 from a Jarius Watson drawing. If I recall, I used '59 Chevy Impala wheels covers, but otherwise, stayed pretty close to the original drawing.
Daniel Peterson Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Ahhh....Krylon purple. I always liked that truck. And the color. It even looks good on a kamero, er comarrow...uh...Chevy F-body.
Guest Davkin Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 What kit did the engine come from? How did you lower the suspension? David
RodBurNeR Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 told ya on TRaK how much I like....can check my blog too
Lyle Willits Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 What kit did the engine come from? How did you lower the suspension? David Here's the drawback to posting old builds. I don't know what kit I got an engine from many years ago. I think the ribbed valve covers are from the AMT '57 Chevy,,,,but I could be wrong. Uh,,,,,,I think I lowered the suspension with lowering blocks. I think I lowered the front by placing the axle above the springs,,,,,,,,,maybe. The models are in my basement model room and I'm 2 floors up on the computer.
Peter Lombardo Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I remember that drawing....very nicely done, the pick up bed is just perfect....real wood with a nice varnish shine to it.
Harry P. Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 from a Jarius Watson drawing. You mean JAIRUS.
MyBradKeselowski Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 very nice build of an old build, I really like that bed it looks like real wood 2 me.

Looks like the valve covers are from AMT's '64 Chevy kit, although I could be wrong. VERY nice build, regardless of age. Excellent!

The Boyd Coddington release for example, seems like I've seen those valve covers in that one. I think I lowered the front by placing the axle above the springs Hmmm...the times I've tried that I ended up with virtually no ground clearance under the springs, maybe my tires were too small. kustomrodz Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Nice paint job, I really like the dash. Did you go off that one drawing or was there more to tell you what kinda motor and interior? Model looks great.
Lyle Willits Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 You mean JAIRUS. Typo. Thanks. Sorry Jairus. I know what it's like to have people spell your name incorrectly all your life.

Did you go off that one drawing or was there more to tell you what kinda motor and interior? Model looks great. I believe there was just that one drawing. In the interior, I carried over the theme of the bed cover. The engine, I just picked from the appropriate era. I'm sure the engine is probably a 409 from some kit, but I choose to call it a 348.
Lyle Willits Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 I really like that bed it looks like real wood 2 me. Then I did it right, I guess.
cotto Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Sir, you are truly an artist, this thing is beautiful and the colors you chose are phenomenal. How did you do the wood in the bed, is it a decal or is it painted? Looks painted!!
