Abell82 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Chop Shop resin Makes an LS front cover, BUT I am not sure it's what you are looking for or not, as it looks to be more like an 88. I have never seen the show, so I do not know what year you are looking to build. If you web search Monte Carlo LS Resin, you will come up with as much, or more then I could tell you. I have only seen the conversion, a few times. Here is a pic: You can purchase it through Scale dreams at Scale dreams
Dragon7665 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Bryan's looking for the Base Model Monte Header.... Here is the basic Differences SS front like the Revell/Monogram has LS front like Chop Shop attempted, but has the wrong Regal/GN/GNX Sealed Beam 2 piece light style, as opposed to the LS' true Single Composite Lamp Assembly(Oddly it is closer to a Base Model setup, but has the wrong bumper trim, and modified 91-96 Caprice Grille).... '86 Base Model(Earlier models had slight changes, and later Years the Base Model nose was the SS Nose from prior years).... It almost looks like you could shave the Bumper Trim on Chop Shop's header, and then add a GN/GNX front bumper to correct the look somewhat, then modify the Grill & Opening for your disired look....
408models Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 (edited) NOT SURE IF THE LAST PICTURES ABOVE IS THE YEAR YOUR LOOKING FOR BUT I GOT THIS FRONT CLIP FOR THAT STYLE YEAR, I'M JUST WORKING ON A GRILLE NOW Edited January 7, 2009 by 408models

Yes I am aware that there a High and Low Beam Headlamp Buckets behind the Single Composite Lense, I have R&R'd enough of them for Buddies of Mine, and Used to sell them on Flea-Bey & Craigslist..... The way the Buckets are staggered on the First LS Clip, it is easy to tell that they came from the SS Header Panel, thus would cause the single lense to sit out too far on the outside, and would also pitch the inside edge towards the right/left of that side.... 408 actually has the right Idea with having the Buckets seperate from the Header Panel, as it would be easier to come up with a more correct bucket angle, once the lense has been established for them.... The biggest thing most over look, is that the lenses follow the contour of the surrounding lines, so that way they blend with the panel..... better
Abell82 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 So ahhh,....... WHAT YEAR IS THE ONE ON THE SHOW, ANYWAY????????????

george 53 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Bryan, Rick, the owner of "Scale Dreams", is one of our club members and he had that exact same grille conversion at our last meeting for 20 bucks. Try his website, www.scaledreams.com I'm sure he had a couple and only one was sold when I left, so I now he's got a couple more. Try him out, he's a real nice/cool guy!
