Need help with AMT/Model King 70 Camaro

OK ... making good progress on my 70 Z-28, but I had a couple of questions.

1. The tires are Firestone AMT tires with no decals. They have raised letter and a groove around the outside. I like the tread detail, but was wondering how I could make the letters white. They are very small and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to paint them. Can any of you give me some suggestions? What should I do with the groove on the outside? Does that mean that they would have a read stripe? If I left them as is, would that be correct??

2. The grill is my favorite part of the front end. How can I deposit black into the recessed parts of this grill? I've seen on here that guys use thinned black paint. Do you use acrylic or enamel? I've done other grills from the 69's before, but this one is different. If you have seen one, you will know what I mean.

I use a 10/0 fine paintbrush to paint tire details with Americana acrylic paints. Americana paints are sold at Michaels, and are on sale frequently. The color selection can't be beat.

Here's a Firestone Wide Oval, I used acrylic paint from Michael's and clead it up with 70% rubbing alcohol.

For grilles and panel lines I use water based India ink. Cleans up nicely with warm water.

Thanks guys! So, if I put a red stripe on it, I don't have to paint the lettering white? Is the Firestone wide oval a stock tire for the 70 Z28?
