Scalefinishes
Okay, I'm finally building a Ford. So far I have all the body work done, and the chassis started. For those of you that are familiar with my work, this is going to be OOB and NOT painted black/gold. Abell82
I have been meaning to do one of these for soo long. Keep us posted!!
Scalefinishes
The chassis is complete. After I get the body mounted I'll get the front tires on. I will paint the body colored over spray when I paint the body. The final details will be taken care of after the body is mounted. This car will be Sapphire blue with the gold stripes. crispy
Jameston--What color did you use on the chassis? Work looks great. I'm digging the chassis detail as well. Chris
Scalefinishes
Thanks for all the positive response. Chris, I used the cheap Walmart red primer for the chassis. Dave, thanks I always thought it was... Unique that Ford wouldn't dip the entire control arm. The engine bay will be painted black, and the Gold Hertz decals go on today. Here's another pic. Thanks Jameston

MrObsessive
I love Shelbys of all years, and you're definitely doing this kit justice! What a nice color to contrast with the gold stripes!

Scalefinishes
The interior is almost finished. I painted it with a product I have been testing, I think it turned out great! The carpet is embossing powder. A little trick I learned here! Thanks for looking and for all the feedback. Soon I'll have it complete and posted in the under glass section. Jameston
Scalefinishes
I don't know why that didn't work. Now, for a second try.
Scalefinishes
Thanks Dave. GMP is out of stock with the Shelby wheels. Are they 1/24Th? If so I'm buying some as soon as they are available. This kit is so nice to build, I've decided to build all four color combos available, and I would like to run a different wheel set on at least one of the cars. The stripes are kit decals covered with Scalefinishes clearcoat. Ball joint Assembly is what Ford was worried about. Who cares about rust? It's cheaper to build them that way. MrObsessive
GMP's ten spoke wheels are more for a '67'-'68 car. The spokes and offsets were different for 1966. Not a huge difference, but to the Shelby purists out there, they'd notice. Jameston, Norm Veber of Replica and Miniatures sells the '66 wheels you might like. They're resin (unplated), so you'd have to Alclad them or something. I have a set and they are nice! I'm not sure of the scale, but it's not that noticeable if they are 1/25th. MrObsessive
Okay, here's a pic of Norms wheels for a '66............ As you see on the label, they are 1/25 scale, however as we know................there were no GT-500's for '66. His will need some minor cleanup (if he still offers them) but the shape is dead on accurate! Hope this helps!

Scalefinishes
Thanks for the info on the wheels guys. I Personally like the look of the later wheels. Plus the car they're going on is not going to be stock anyway. I'll post the build of the car I'm using the wheels on. Thanks to everyone who looked, and commented on the build. The car is done and now posted in "under glass". http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17084 Jameston Edited January 10, 2009 by Scalefinishes
