gbtr6 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Starting on this Camaro for a friend at work. Wish I had a template for the windshield black surround. Hard to mask or hand paint. I see I will have to re-do the dash. Gauges are black with white numbers. One problem I am having is the paint crazed. I primed as I usually do, the sprayed a light mist of the red and let it dry a little. Then sprayed heavier coats. I've done it like this before and it's been OK. Now I need to strip it. What do you all use to strip paint? Perry
kelson Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 If it's enamel paint,Castrol Super clean is the way to go it works great, if it's lacquer Brake Fluid works good, but don't let it sit to long, kit maybe become brittle afterwards.
gbtr6 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Posted February 19, 2022 It’s a spray can enamel. I have a purple degreaser I’ll try. Perry
Smoke Wagon Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Super Clean works great for me. Comes in a purple container.
gbtr6 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Posted February 19, 2022 Have in the purple bath. Seems to be doing well. Have to see how paint goes again. Perry
gbtr6 Posted February 22, 2022 Author Posted February 22, 2022 Got a nicer shade of red on the body. It looks shinier than the pictures. A little buffing and it will be good. Perry 2
