Seattle Mike Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I see that Portland has 2 car shows - the Portland Rod & Custom Show in February, and the Portland Roadster Show a few weeks later in March. Which one of the two shows is the better one to go to?
The Creative Explorer Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I like them both But there is also the Northwest car collectors show, somewhere in november I think. And the drive-ins ad PIR. They are even better than the shows. So much to see, so little time.

Which one of the two shows is the better one to go to? Hey guy's Bad New's - Portland Rod & Custom show doesn't exist anymore I'm told, as of this year. Maybe Seattle 's show is gone too The partners I'm told are in a legal battle. Hope it isn't true, but I got the info at our last SABA model car club meeting here in Portland, and it was from a pretty reliable member of our club. Edited January 4, 2009 by Treehugger Dave

Their WEB Site only shows Grand National Roadster Show and a Sacramento event Hot Rod Shows Who's taking over for Bob Paeth on the Portland Roadster Show?
Seattle Mike Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 I just checked the Qwest Field website, and they do not have the Seattle Roadster show listed for the dates that I was given. It looks like it may not happen - bummer! I was looking forward to attending it for the first time since moving out here!

There have been several people throughout the 38 years of the model show that have always worked together to make it happen, and will continue to keep it alive and well . Four years ago the contest was re-named, to PORTLAND CLASSIC MODEL CAR CONTEST. It has been re-named again in honor of Bob Paeth, who is the founding "Father" of the club, along with Bob Robinson and Ron Martinolich - the current President of the club. The new name of the event is the BOB PAETH PORTLAND CLASSIC MODEL CAR CONTEST.

Did he continue the "Best of the Best"? The last show I attended was 2001. I wound up moving to the Chicago area in 2002 for family reasons and still working to get out here. I used to be a member of the PSAMA in Seattle area. Thanks, Gerry
