I came up with this way back when I 1st started on this build and put it together the other day and I think it's going to look pretty good, but it kind of sucks because some of the chrome has rubbed off from being handeled so much over time. Not sure yet what I will do to fix that?

I'm going to be doing another dash as this one, that I did back in 1987 just doesn't look good and I don't think the color goes right with what I painted the body.

And boy check out the cool in-dash TV!!!;)

i use model masters chrome paint on plated parts that need touching up

while it is definatly not enough to "plate" a part with i do find it sufficient to mask minor imperfections with

thumbs up on the look of it

Nice looking grill. :D

To repair it, I'd try to just shoot some Alclad chrome onto it. No need to go the whole glossy-black-first routine, just touch it up with the Alclad and it should look fine.

Wait untill you're ready for the final install however.

What's it got for power by the way, 400cid Ram Air I hope?

Thanks for the kind words about the grill work and how to repair it. I'll give it a try and see how it looks then.

As far as power for it when I started this kit so many years ago I was going to use the 409 drag motor that came with the kit? But I also built the stock 283 and have it sitting in it now to see what it looked like. Here is a photo of it plus a few more of the car.

And I'm still playing around with the wheels?

B) I'm embarassed now. Thought I read GTO on the left grill. That is why I suggested the Pontiac motor.

Chop top is sharp. Cool stance too with those tires.

What if you remove the center of the 57 hub cap, dog dish style, and insert it with the trim ring? Just a thought.

It funny that you said that, because I took one and did that to it just to see how it would look. I didn't spend a lot of time on it. But I'll try another one tomorrow and see if I can get it to look right.
