No SM420 gear box? Every GMC tow truck I drove had one in it. I don't know if they came from the factory with a Saginaw/Muncie transmission.

Well you feel free to come on over and scrape off the 2 in of grease stacked up on that gearbox or just wait till I can get it cleaned up and then and then I'll make it or just be grateful that I make anything

No matter, VCG Resins makes a great SM420. It would be hard to top that one. Josh would probably make you a decent deal on a bunch of them...

So I went and looked at his SM420, that wont be hard to beat at all, in fact since it has a GM bolt pattern it wont really work anyways. Its not bad but not the level of detail I am after, you can always go ask him to design a GMC V6 and he will then talk to Scale Model Autowerks to do it, not like you actually buy from me anyways. Things to note about that transmission of his, it doesn't have the PTO or the flange cove that would replace it it doesn't have the right dimensions I can tell just by looking and its missing a lot of details, he makes a good product I won't say his stuff is bad, but scanning then producing from that is always going to be more accurate than designing from looking at pictures.

I can live with a little less detail if the parts are ultra crisp and clean. Sometimes there is TOO much detail and the parts are quite fragile.

I will definitely check out your SM420. It should be interesting like everything else you make. The tandem 305 V6 is next level for sure.

when will you be doing a Carter AVS carb ?

Probably never as I don't see a difference between this and the AFB perhaps there is something but I don't think it's significant

odd to make a carb that everyone loved to hate....

That being said, it's a necessity for certain mopar stock builds.

(and since everyone liked to throw them out, one of them ran well on my '68 Firebird, you just have to know how to work on them)

The Thermo-Lag, LOL. Agree that it is needed for the Demon and some of the other Mopars we have been seeing lately.

speaking as a person that has rebuilt many of these, it's really nice to see them with all the proper linkage on them rather than a blob of plastic.

Well this plus a scanner plus some design time makes that

I love a Q-Jet. I raced stock cars in a class where Holley 4-barrels were not permitted. These worked just fine for us. These have great detail to them, nice work!

So I'm going to be real honest This is originally done by Scott Solomon and I'm not going to redesign the heads I am doing some work to this I'm going to redo the blower system where it doesn't come with both hats but you can buy either hat and the strombergs will now be a separate piece but as far as redesigning the heads and all the work that would be involved in then I just don't have time for it Y'all can reach out to him and ask him if he wants to do it but I don't have the time with everything I'm doing to do a full redesign for that and while it may not be a popular opinion that is what I'm doing
