Rudy Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 (edited) Here is my first-ever attempt at a traditional hotrod. It is a model T sedan with another first for me, a significant chop. All other parts except a small piece of the frame are of unknown origin, because I bought a box of parts off the internet for 5 bucks. I made my own large "Z" in the rear of the frame, and made custom motor mounts and a suicide mount for the front axle, another parts box find. The rear is a parts box banjo, and the wide whites are perfect, maybe from a 50 ford kit? The flattie will probably end up with 3 deuces, as I am just fabbing and mocking up as of now. This is also my first attmept at taking pics of my work and small objects. Excuse the quality of some or all of the pics. I will learn. Custom frame suicide mount Banjo Flathead with custom lakes pipes, made from the corners of a parts tree that just seemed to have the right angles on them.... Ride height Thats all for now kids, what do ya think so far? I plan to paint it a flat olive-drab green, or a metallic lime-gold with lots of flake for the 60's show rod look and if I use the pushbar. I also have a mall moon tank that fits on the suicide mount well, but dunno if I will use it. I hope you like my 1st attmept at what is going to be mnay many more trad-styled hot rods...... Thanks, RUDY Edited January 7, 2009 by Rudy
Rudy Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Maybe SoCal style with a surfboard or 2? what do you think? I found this pushbar/bumper, possibly off of a cobra (again, from parts box) I dont think I am gonna use it unless I paint it like a 60's show rod, what do you think? Unknown tail light, what do you think? I also have 1 large one cut at a similar angle I am thinking about using.
Eshaver Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Ranger Rudy, uh who did the body? I'm real interested int what you have there , Kinda caught my eye as this looks like a " REAL- Car"!!!! Ed Shaver

MADmodelDOCTOR Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Everything is looking good on that. Really trick out the flathead. Olive drab might be a good color....or metalflake Later,
fordh8r Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Definitely love the build! The stance looks good and the surfboard will look good on there too.
Smart-Resins Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Looks like a very cool start! I can never seam to find a surf/boogie board. If I ever get my hands on one I am going to have to cast it! LOL. Jody
Rudy Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Ranger Rudy, uh who did the body? I'm real interested int what you have there , Kinda caught my eye as this looks like a " REAL- Car"!!!! Ed Shaver Ed, the kit is the 26 T sedan, it has a brown sedan panel on the box that says "LIL John's" hot rod parts or something like that..... I wonder if this is a kit version of the 1:1 Lil John Buttera T sedan? Looks like it is. About the chop, I didnt have a saw or a dremel at the time, so I chopped it with a pair of dikes and filed it down! LOL..... I left the chop kind of raw, as I may give a leaded look to it on top of the paint if It gets painted O.D. green. Jody- I have no idea where the surfboards came from, they were in the parts box I bought for $5. I have 2 of them. I can send one to you to cast if you like. Who is the company that makes the stromberg 97's? Model car garage? Thank You for the compliments Rudy
