Twist67 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Hi there, while I´m working on my 32ft Flatbed I´ve started or better restarted the building process on my Pete 377.I shortened the wheelbase, added some wide resin rims and wide Italerie trailer tires to the front.I also made an daycab panel on my machine with a window and windowframe.I also want to build a trailer for the truck and a headrack with a short deck. For the trailer I used the plans from my dropframe-platform trailer and rework it for a longer trailer. The beams are splitted into two pieces because of the maximum workspace on my machine from about 39 cm.It worked fine and now I have to do the rest of the crossmembers and all the other parts. I attached some pictures of the daycab-panel and also the trailer with truck. It´s painted with automotive colors, the decals are selfmade and printed out with my alps. The grey parts will be Allclad Aluminium and the frame will be semigloss black. But first I have to wire the frame.... Here are the pictures....
Twist67 Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 I build an steptoolbox for the frame.Parts are again milled out on my machine. Thanks for looking, Regards,Chris
Bryan H Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Very nice Chris! Quite impressive. I would be interested to hear about your milling machine. Is it a manual machine or CNC? If CNC, what CAM and controller software do you use? Bryan
Twist67 Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 Hi Bryan, Thanks for the compliments. The milling machine is an CNC machine.I use Coreldraw for the drawings, the controller software is called WinPC-NC Economy and works with Windows XP.I could also use Autocad but I´m not so familiar with the than with Corel. Take a look at My Fotki site or my Homepage to see more of the parts and kits I have made with that machine.Makes a lot of fun working with it...To make the drawings is time expensive but the results are great... Thnaks for your interest, Regards,Chris
chuckyr Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Great stuff as usual. KFS (Auslowe) offered a Peterbilt day cab back panel (P6 Day cab panel Peterbilt 377 & 378 £4.10GBP) . It is very accurate for the year. Charles Mitchell
