FordWagonNut Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Ok, so here is the deal. I am a first timer with resin, its a '73 Chevrolet Kingswood Estate wagon from "The Modelhaus". I am 100% satisfied with this guys cars, I mean, there was really nothing to do with the body. Everything is straight and sharp. I also bought his '70 Ford LTD Country Squire ( I own a '78 Ford LTD Country Squire). The problem is, I painted the '73 Chevy with the three part lacquer system by Testors. I really dont like how the color turned out on this wagon and I would like to repaint it. Can I use Wesley White Wall Tire cleaner? Or is there something else that I can use. Thanks for any help, Jonathan
chrismooney Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I have used easy off oven cleaner on resin w/o any problems.. also i am almost shure you can clean resin off with laquer thinner.... it wont melt it like it does to platic
BigPoppa Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Whatever you do, DON'T use Castrol Super Clean/Purple Power degreasers. Try Easy-Off first for sure
Eshaver Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I generally use the Poly S brand of Lift off. I have good luck with it even though it sometimes take several tries to get it to work. Ed Shaver
FordWagonNut Posted January 13, 2009 Author Posted January 13, 2009 Thanks for the info on this one.......I really really didn't want to watch my $90 investment just melt before me by me using the wrong stripper. I'll give some of this a go later this week and see what happens.
