  1. Simply brilliant work! Love that color combination.
  2. Great project! A Oldsmobile I have always wanted in full size and a model. Keep up the great work.
  3. OOOOHHHH, that is such a good looking color! Shes gona look sharp.
  4. Outside of model cars: Well I do have my love and passion for 1:1 '70s land barges. I have a '78 Ford LTD Country Squire that I maintain and have done some light restoration myself. The '78 was a replacement for my '77 Country Squire that was totaled the same day I graduated college in 2008. The '77 I had restored most of it myself. I'm a collector of random cold war films done in the '60s, '70s, and '80s, from the better known film "War Games" to the rare BBC "When the Wind Blows". This started when I watched "The Day After" in 1983 (I was four). I also restore and collect 8 track tape players and the carts them selfs. It was a hobby that found me. I got a player that worked with tapes that where split when I was about eight years old. So I figured out to splice them together and the collection was born. Other than that, I jog with my German Shepard, spend time with my friends on the Fox River in the summers, and just like being out of doors when I can.
  5. Very cool! You don't see many built as stock models, nice to see a change of pace.
  6. Love your GN, very very clean work. I remember going to a Buick dealer with my dad in '87, he was looking to lease a Century from his company at the time. I remember one on the show room floor and a salesman explaining to me about the muscle car era (I was 8 years old in late '87). That interior is exactly what I remember.
  7. What about "The Rockford Files" '74 to '78 Pontiac Firebird Esprit? I had read somewhere on line years ago, the movie "The Car" was made in 1/18th dicast and it was between that and The Rockford Files Firebird. I'm 30, wasn't even alive when it first aired. I LOVE that show, own all the seasons on DVD and the movies that where done in the '90s.
  8. very clean and crisp. It's nice to see a stock version rather than a police one.
  9. I started in '04 when I was in college. I bought mine brand new but mine is a V-6 with a Pony Package (makes it look GTish). I used the hood scoop off a AMT '69 Mercury Cougar, the V-6 block out of a mid '90s AMT Ranger, the Cobra wheels off a '94 AMT Mustang, and the solid rear axle out of a '94 Monogram Mustang GT, along with the rear spoiler. Looks like you grafted the correct front lower bumper with the correct fog lamp set up. That is what has been holding me back. I don't see my skills to that level yet. Besides, my '04 is black also, so any of my mistakes would show up pretty clear. I will see if I have any pictures, if not, take a few, and post some on here.
  10. Very cool! I am doing the same for my '04 in black......its a project that always seems to get placed on the back burner.
  11. That is just great paint and detail work. Very well done.
  12. I like the port hole windows, I have NEVER seen that done on a model. Kinda looks like something that would have been in the 1979 movie Hollywood Knights.
  13. Glen. MMMMMM, I never thought of doing that. Sounds like one way to get the decal paper to seat itself in the panels.
  14. Thank you James. I hope it turns out well. This will be my first vinyl top conversion car that will be done right ( I used to use masking tape to get the grain pattern). I'm really excited to get this one started. That is kinda odd no one had made a Holden kit like your avitar. Then again, I have yet to see a lot of kits from the Aussie Holden and Ford ranch. I do have one Holden, it's a die cast 1/43rd 2 door coupe in red, I think it's a '69 or '70. I bought it when I was in England. Saw it, had no clue what it was, liked what I saw, and grabbed it. There have been some GREAT looking General Motors and Ford's that I have seen in movies from about the '50s till the '80s that we did not get here in the United States.
  15. So I finally got it! I was 15 when I only heard about the All American Models '78 Ford LTD and by that time, I think Art had closed his shop. Ever since I was on the hunt for the "Home of The Whooper" '75-'78 Ford LTD. I had a 1976 Brougham in cream/yellow with a brown top, 400 cid, C-6 trans, and just clean as they could get while I was at Wyoming Tech in '98. It sure was a grand road car, it took the 90 deg 90% humidity, I-80 from Wyoming to IL, with the A/C full blast like a true champ. I have always liked Fords biggies from the early '60s to '78. When I saw that the '78 four door body style was out, i knew I HAD to get a few. This afternoon there were two waiting when I got home for lunch. I was a little worried since I never had any experaince with Missing Link but from what I read on here and saw, I took a chance. Opening up that box, seeing whats inside, I'm sure glad I did. The body is laser sharp, nice and clean lines exactly like my '76. From the "LTD" (Love To Drive) scrip on the rear deck, to the notched out turn signal lamps, and down to the 5 MPH park bench bumpers, it sure is a clean and correct style kit. If anyone has any worries dealing with Missing Link, there is no need to worry at all. I had emailed Kevin a few times and he always emailed well with in a proper time. The kits where well packed and the cars came in a great time from ordering to my front door. I will be adding some trim, a halo style top, full wheel covers, and a few other tid bits to make it like my '76. The other kit, I will save till my skills are up to par to convert a four door to my '78 LTD Country Squire.
  16. This is my first Modelhaus wagons I bought when I graduated college in '08 as a gift for myself. Just like the '72 Ford Custom I bought from them, this is no different. I bought the kit that you use the '70 Galaxie as a donor kit. All the lines on the wagon are spot on to its 1:1 counterpart, very very little clean up was needed. I am so happy with the Modelhaus, my next order will be another '70 Country Squire, '76 Cadillac Coupe Deville, and the '74 Chevrolet Impala. The color I chose was Flame Red from the Model Master lacquer system. Two coats of the primer, three coats of color, and three coats of the clear. For the interior I used Dupli-Color vinal & fabric dye, HVP110 burgandy. I have also done something I have never done before, crafted my own roof rack. The Modelhaus comes without the rack. Also the faux wood sides decals where included, they to are spot on to the 1:1. But I am having a few issues with them. One, they don't want to stick, and two, if you break open the ink, it shows the white paper under. So I'm still working on that. The colors are very close to the '77 Country Squire I had restored in college. It was totaled on delivery the same day, three hours before I walked to graduate. So this is my little "thank you" for a car that broke open a lot of social bariers I had.
  17. That body is just rolling art. I REALLY like the colors you used.
  18. I don't know if you have an Auto Zone in your area. They had it on sale a few months ago, they still carry it.
  19. Very nice, I like the Impala. Is that the Modelhaus kit?
  20. I like all three, but that orange one is awesome! Your right too, its a great kit.
  21. Did someone say Country Squire? I would love a '71 to '72 or a '75 to '78 Country Squire or Colony Park. The red one is a '77 that I had restored in college. The '77 is gone but its replacement is the green '78. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000041-1.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000037.jpg I love the stock daily drivers. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000569.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000454II.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000560.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/1972FordV.jpg I would like to see a '95 to '97 Lincoln Town Car, the late 60s to early 70s Dodge full sizers, and what about a '77 to '79 Ford Thunderbird?
