  1. My kinda wagon!
  2. WOOOOOOOOW, it is just awesome!
  3. I that color is perfect on that style Impala. All together, its a pppuuurrrrdddyy Chevy!
  4. I remember seeing these in SA when I was about 10 to 15 years old, going to myself "I want to build like that guy when I get older". I'm 30 now, still working on it. I really like the early, mid '80s Impala.
  5. I'm diggin the wagon kit. I have the Roadmaster already, just haven't started that one yet.
  6. The rear & front bumper, along with the grill where all chrome plated from the Modelhaus. And just simple flat black washed the grill and headlamp areas. I did nothing special at all. Just a nice, clean, simple build. I have a few other Modelhaus kits, these have been the most enjoyable resin kits that I have bought. I have spoken to the owner and I think it was his wife, WONDERFUL folks, great customer service. If you or anyone is put off by working with resin, their kits will change your mind. Very very little work was needed to prep the bodies and some minor filling was all that was needed. Who ever did the master on this, hes an artist. Lines are spot on to the 1:1.
  7. They where the only plates I had on stock that did not look too small or toyish. When I find a set of plates I like, I will replace them. Thank you everyone for the kind comments.
  8. Skip: The wheel trim is not on the kit, I added the strips from random strips of plastic I had. I wanted to bump the model from a Custom to a Custom 500, added full size wheel covers, chrome trim the door frames, thin white wall tires from American Satco, and the wheel lip chrome. And no, I did nothing at all with the headlamps. Just did a basic black wash job on the grill. Who ever mastered these LTD's and Custom Fords did one HECK of a wonderful job on fully capturing what these cars are. Rob: The rear view mirrors are from AMT's '68 Ford Mustang Fastback kit. Honestly I think they look a little too high but these where the only FoMoCo style I could find in my stock. I would like to get some more mirrors for the other LTD's. The '72 LTD 2-door I just started, I'm still looking at body and landau top colors.
  9. Well its 99.9% done. I still want to add a radio antenna but other than that, the '72 is done. If anyone buys one of these, its a awesome kit. However I would use a '69 Ford Galaxie frame. It was recommended that I use a '70 Galaxie frame. The '70 frame dose not allow the interior tub to sit right. So with some cutting and adjustments for wheel stance, the '69 Galaxie frame worked better.
  10. Mouth watering.....
  11. I like it! I had no idea Monogram made a '80 stepside kit.
  12. That body style is rolling art. Your version is a prime example of it.
  13. Thanks everyone. I can't wait to get the '78 LTD from Missing Link. I have had a few 1:1's myself and they have been a joy to own/drive.
  14. Simply awesome!
  15. Very sharp. I like the half landau top.
  16. Burt used '71 Customs, Custom 500s, Galaxies, and I think there where a couple LTD's. The MissingLink resin casters have the '71 Custom. The front bumper and rear bumper are changed from '71 to '72. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leKp43seddc&playnext_from=TL&videos=B7McSRevRCM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHlOXERUvyM&playnext_from=TL&videos=6V_7NNfYgbs
  17. Thank you everyone. What can I say, I love the whale like Detroit iron. Rick: The polishing kit I used is made by Stevens International. Part number HSX 202. It has a polishing cloth, bottle of Micro Gloss, then the sand paper, going from 2,400 to 12,000 grit. Each time I switched the grit, I just washed off the car and sand paper with tap water. As for the water I used to sand with, again, tap water but with a drop of dish washing soap. Wish I was not so worried about it before, it went so smoothly.
  18. Since I love the huge Ford's out of the '60s and '70s, I could not pass up the '72 Ford Custom from the Modelhaus. This will be my first resin kit that I have ever finished (knock on wood). The only thing I have added, wheel trim molding, white walls (thin), and full size wheel covers. The body was shot with the three part Model Master lacquer system. Two coats of primer, three coats of Citrus Yellow Metallic, and two coats of Ultra Gloss Clear. This was also the first time I used a sanding polishing kit. All I have to say, I LOVE IT! I was really worried taking sandpaper to my paint work, but I'm glad I did. The interior was painted with Tamiya TS-2 dark green. I know someone else on here did a Dirty Harry Ford but I just wanted a plan jane model, more like a rented car from Hertz or Avis.
  19. Looking at the pictures of the '77 you have there, flooded my head with memories. I remember in about '84 or '85, the MC was just dirty from general use. So in my child wisdom, I wanted to clean the car for my mom, so I used Windex. So from about the top of the fenders and down, it was "clean". I will be making a copy of my moms '77 with the Revell. Just gota figure out what red I can use that would match interior of the '77. Here is one I built in college (2003ish)? Sorry for the picture quality (lack of), still trying to figure the bugger out. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000080-1.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f269/fordwagonnut/S5000086.jpg
  20. Nice job Nick. I like how you added the chrome trim in the tail lamp lenses. A few built ups I have seen, guys have missed that.
  21. I can just can hear Angel going "Jimmy Jimmy, you gota help me man!" With Jim rolling his eyes.
  22. My mom had a '77 Monte Carlo when I was little kid in the 80s. She had it till '87, sold it for a Volkswagen Jetta. The Monte was the first car that introduced me to cars, sounds, smells, and all that. So I have a real soft spot for the '70s to early '80s MC's. This is the ad that popped in my head when I saw your pictures.
  23. These are just simply awesome! The last three pictures look like they could have been used for a genuine GM ad. "When a car makes you look good, that's styling. When a car makes you feel good, that's character".
