Hello all, I have just ordered the AutomobilMiniaturen resin transkit of the Eleanor Mustang and they tell you the recommended donor kit is the AMT 1967 GT350 Shelby kit, number 38492 (shows the built model on the box.).

I was wondering if the other AMT 1967 GT350 Shelby kit (shows the real car on the box) was the exact same, just issued at a different time?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Actually, they are both pictures of models and they both look the same to me.

Actually, IIRC, the original issue from the '90s (box art on the left) has a pic of a 1:1 Shelby on the box...the later issue (on the right) has a pic of a built kit.

Many AMT kits in the mid '90s had real cars on the boxes, like the '67 Mustang, Explorers, etc.

Cool, so thier the same kits, just different box art?

I really like the box art with the real one and i've found that it sells for less on Ebay but I wasn't sure if it was the same kit.

Are they both molded in the light gray plastic?

Yes.

That I don't know..the original one is definitely gray, I don't have the reissue, so I don't know. It probably is, though. Most AMT's this decade have been molded in gray..
