Clay Posted January 13, 2009 Author Posted January 13, 2009 Okay ! Okay ! My real name is Lloyd Woddington. Hope you're all happy now. Yes I am happy, THANK YOU!!!
LDO Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 And you forget, I am a Sergeant in the Marines, and if taking things upon myself is what needs to be done to get it done, then thats what I do. Who cares? It's cool that you serve, but really, how is that relevant to your status as just another poster on this site? I was an Army NCO. Should I take it upon myself to rid the board of non-descriptive thread titles? We've got retired Lieutenant Colonel here. Maybe we should get him to get everyone in line? Chill the bleep out. If you have a problem with people not following rules, go start your own forum.
bobss396 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 This thread should be cut. It reminds me bickering on other boards that I have fled and hoped this one would be different. Is there a moderator in the house? Bob
crazyjim Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 What's the big new with multiple accounts or not using your whole name? I've been going to this forum for several months, did a couple of postings, learned alot, and am thoroughly enjoying it. Please don't ruin it.
Harry P. Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 What's the big new with multiple accounts or not using your whole name? I've been going to this forum for several months, did a couple of postings, learned alot, and am thoroughly enjoying it. Please don't ruin it. To all of you guys who insists on not using your name: Nobody is trying to "ruin" anything. I'm not sure how or why this rule came about, but it IS the rule. Theoretically, everyone who signed on here agreed to obey the rules when they became a member. It's a very simple request. Nobody is asking anything outrageous... we're not asking to to post up your SSN, last year's tax return, or tell us where the spare key to your front door is hidden. All we're asking for is your NAME, fer cryin' out loud! The vast majority of you do use your name in your sig... only a few of you refuse to do so. There's really no reason to ignore that rule, so I'm really wondering why a few of you are so insistent on keeping your name hidden. What in the world is the problem with showing us your name? And finally... again to all of you who refuse to show your name... you'll notice that up until this particular topic, there has been very little, if any, pressure on any of you to do so. Yes, it's a rule, and you are expected to follow the rules without being nagged about it. This place is not one of those heavy-handed, overly-moderated boards where people's posts get locked or deleted for mysterious reasons... if anything, there is LESS moderation here than on most boards. I don't think anyone has any real complaint as far as the moderating here goes. Most everyone gets along just fine.
93Z34 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) Some of us had accounts that became unusable when the servers switched, for whatever reason, hence the "new" screen names. My account was one of those. Anyone who checks my personal info will see the date when this one was created. It wasn't recently. As for posting full names, so be it. But what about the same three individuals who insist on causing strife any chance they can on these forums? What are the rules for this type of behavior Larry? Ironically, those same three individuals who seem to have an issue of others joining forums under different names are guilty of trying to do the same thing themselves. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Maybe if everyone spent a bit more time building models rather than trying cause controversy at every turn, this forum would run a bit smoother. With that being said, my 'Cuda is calling my name. Edited January 13, 2009 by 93Z34
MicroNitro Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Hi, It seems to me someone trying to do identity theft would have it easier looking in a phone book. There they would get a name address and the phone number, They still would need a few more things I would think. Out here in the country we all have are full names out on the street on the mail box and I would think a lot more people would see it there than on a form for us goofy people that play with plastic toys. Now as my dad would say when us kid would start fighting, "lets go to town and get some ice cream then we will forget about all of this".
Harry P. Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Ok... we've all had a chance to chime in here. And now we all know the rule about using your real name. Hopefully those of you who have refused to do so until now will change your mind. No real point in going on with this topic... it's pretty much all been said. Move along folks... nothing to see here...
