jabba Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Dear community, unfortunately some of my 1/18 AWB Mopars has chipped paint which I want to repair. I have no idea about the color names used, color codes or manufacturers with which these models were painted at the time. Even though these models were sold by Supercar1 I think Highway61, ACME or GMP are behind them as manufacturers. I don't know any contact with these manufacturers either. And if so, the question would be whether they would share this information. So now I turn to this great community and ask: Has anybody an idea or informations for the closest match about the blue tone of Lee Smith's HAULIN HEMI 1/18 Mopar AWB car? Due to the photographic implementation, the images do not show the exact color. Unfortunately, my technical equipment does not allow for better pictures, sorry. If you google for pictures of this model you will get a better idea of the exact color. I know the websites with their color references:https://paintref.com/paintref/indexm.shtmlhttp://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ However, I don't know if the racing cars are also based on these colors. Any answer that helps me is welcome. Whether the suggested colors/manufacturers would then be available here in Europe/Germany is another topic again... ;(. Many thanks for your help.
JollySipper Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I don't know if there is anything like it in the automotive repair shops, but when I was a house painter, most places that mixed paints had a type of color reader that showed what colors were needed to achieve the target color.......... It just read a sample. Maybe there is an auto repair shop near you that could read the paint on the model and mix you a small bit from that?
