dryvr12 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 what do yo guys use to glue the headlight covers in place? ive made the mistake of using a very little amount of super glue (fogged the covers right up) and ive seen models tht elmers has messed up. btw do you think rubber cement would work?
crispy Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I'm really surprised Elmer's would mess a model up since it's water wash-up because it should work. I use Formula 560. Stronger than Elmer's but also water cleanup if need be. Chris
Terry Sumner Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I use Future to stick 'em in there. Dries perfectly clear! Just put a drop or two of Future (floor polish) in the hole and place the clear headlight lens onto it. Here's a Willys that I used the Future to attach the headlight lenses into the cans. LoneWolf15 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Zack, Testors clear coat or high gloss clearcoat will do the trick. Brush it on the ring , set the lens in place, and set it off to the side to dry . The Old Man
Aaronw Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I use Future as well, it can be a little tricky if the light doesn't want to stay but otherwise never had a problem.
chris coller Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I use future and Tamiya acrylic clear in a jar. If you have the fogging problem and dont wont to discard your project take a q tip and dip in baby oil and gently swab the head light. It should take the fogging away!
