Eshaver Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Yesterday, I spent pretty much the entire day trying to find a digital printer kiosk that I could at least figure out how to use . I was a THREE, COUNTEM , THREE different drug stores and then Two more drug stores with a competitor . The first three wanted a Pin number that I wasn't provided with . each time , clerks were oblivious and really weren't interested in assisting me in any way. I was very forth coming each time I came into the store as I explained to the clerk that I had several C D 's and I would need to view each one to see which C D had prints to save . Apparently none of them understood perfect English or they were too dang busy looking bored! After three drugstores , I made the mistake of going to the main county library! Hey kids , STAY AWAY FROM CHESTERFIELD COUNTY LIBRARY IN VIRGINIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew........................................................ That bunch there are absolutely the absolute worst of the worst ! I went through their little speel of signing up for a new library card as I tore up the last one the last time I attempted to use one of their computers in 1999. Well, the Bureaucrats had all of my information about when I had visited their facility but none of them could explain which buttons , windows or anything else do use on their computers to even find where the C D holder was either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile the clock is ticking off as one is limited to a one hour visit on the computer . I finally just threw up my hands as I couldn't even get a Librarian to show me what folder to use to publish my pictures ! These two were too busy looking BORED TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait a minute , My real estate taxes go to pay their job , or don't they ????????????? I went to Wal Mart in utter disgust and bought a new printer that I really can not at this time afford . Yes , i figured out how to use the printer to do some real simple stuff on it and I guess I'll,l re size the prints somewhere down the road . You know , I was in the Custom Van accessory business for several years . I made it a point to listen to my customers as THEY were the means to a paycheck! I still have a bumper sticker on my toolbox from Kanter Auto Supply In Boonton New Jersey. It says , "Do it Once and Do it Right ". You know , whenever I need parts for my 53 Ford , I always will call them first ! The reason is simple , THEY CARE !!!!! Ed Shaver

Ed Shaver I know the feeling trying to get any service from buisnesses these days, but what do you expect when employers don't value the workers that take some pride in their jobs anymore. Its all about minimum wage these days, employees are just disposable cogs. Printers are not the best value for doing photos. There are some online photo labs, you just mail them a CD of photos with instructions on size print and such. Some will even do things like framing, buisness cards etc, I understand they can even do some 3d stuff. My wife had some done awhile back, seemed to be a pretty painless process and not anymore expensive than the old days when you dropped off a roll of film and got prints in return. There are several of these online labs, I have heard good things about Mpix from photography friends but here is a list I have if you want to shop around. I used to do the custom van thing with friends and the $ was made with GOOD SERVICE! The Second is lousy pictures at the drugstore. But before going off lets see what happened ... 3 Different DRUGSTORES same results..then the library..SAME THERE!!! But why didn't you go to the local camera store/ mini lab. LESSON TO BE LEARNED BY ALL: If you need drug knowledge go to the drug store...if you need books ...library!! if you need PHOTO HELP go to a CAMERA STORE!!! Sorry for the rant but after 25 years in the photo industry I will always tell you to find a good photo dealer and keep them alive!!! Edited February 7, 2009 by MikeMc
tuffone20 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) I know a hobby shop close to my house needs to learn some customer service!! I went into a Hobby Town USA and was in there for some 20 mins looking for some BMF & ACL-107 and the 2 people working one of which I think is the manager were far to busy trying to sell another customer an R/C Heli that they never even said hi when I walked by them or ask me if I needed any help! And today I went to a hobby shop some 30 plus miles from my house and they said hi when I came in the door and asked if I needed anything and where ever helpful and because of they outstanding service I ended up spending $80 there and was even told that because of how far I had to drive to get there to call a weeks or so before coming if there was anything I needed that they might not have but could order for me!
