I finally decided to get another project going with the intentions to finish it.

This may not be my cup of Tea or others.

So here is to Outside my Comfort Zone..

PhotoBucket seems to be acting up so just click on the No Photo Photo and it'll send ya straight there.

P/L Ecto I

Filled in the Quarter windows.

Stretched out a Revell Caddie Lowrider frame.

Not sure where I'm going yet But I like the Gold wheels..

But 24's Chrome look good.

Or maybe 24" Black

maybe black or chrome??

A little something different.

This ones for you kevin.....

Thanks.

I was wondering where yours went to.

I thought about chopping just the front half.

The Revell LowRider Caddie was plentiful and I didn't have the Monogram.

Besides the newer Chassis will give it a better ride but I don't know if I'll cut the hood open yet.

Gotta find my good Bondo..

So the links are working or going to Photobucket to see it?

I tried fixing the links but the pics still aren't showing. ???

A wedge chop would be KILLER (pun Intended) I have a picture of a hearse with a wedge chop, I'll put it on here for you, so you will have some kinda idea about it, yea I know not the same year, and yours is more rounded at the rear. so it wouldn't look so much like a dart, You used the Revell Caddy lowrider frame? I just so happen to have one of those, have to check your pic's again to see where you cut yours...

Total BUMMER! I cant find the frame, FREAKING CAT!!!!, but now you got me searching all my frames for cutting, THANX that is a kiiler idea, cides who' said it had to be a caddy frame, YOU ROCK MAN, you pretty much got me unstuck...

That looks good but I was thinking more in the line of a Vista Cruizer top.

More chassis pics.

I used round tube to help keep the chassis straight. i should've use square but I didn't have two sizes that

would fit inside of each other on hand.

More photobucket testing.

P2110006.jpg

I filled in the gap with flatsheet and then cut out the driveline tunnel and filled that in with a round tube to fit.

P2110003.jpg

P2110007.jpg

had to cut away some of the P/L Ecto tube to fit around the Revell Chassis.

P2110004.jpg

Right now it is only rolling around on my shop tires

Yaaah, Photobucket works for me today..

Here's a question for you, instead of scratching the piece you cut out of the frame, do you think it would be possable to use a cut out section of the frame of the kit? I know try it and find out, but it was on my mind as I dont have all the plastic to scratch build a section, ah well anyway this is starting to take shape, and I'm watching, 100%...

Looks good!

Here's what I did to make a frame for my '59 hearse....

0059614-R1-014-5A_1.jpg

I took 2 frames from the Monogram '59 Elderado Seville kits....

0059614-R1-052-24A.jpg

Cut them apart....

0059614-R1-046-21A.jpg

0059614-R1-040-18A.jpg

And then re-attached them....

0059614-R1-034-15A_1.jpg

This what the '59 looks like with the front of the roof chopped and lowered looks like. I got the idea from the car Michael has posted. George Barris' "Cargoyle". I love that car!!!!

Very Wicked looking Draggin Hearse Custom Hearse

really like those Custom Hoodscoops you do.

Splicing 2 kit frames is good but leaves you with 2 part kits.

Besides, the Revell Caddie was $5 :D

unforgiven

The Ecto had too much molded in detail (I thought at the moment) but

Yes, You could use it at the Muffler section.

and other parts of it to finish it off.

Big flat and Plain, you'd just have to finish of the drive-shaft tunnel.

Thanks Rodney!

Actually I've been able to use the parts on other builds. The parts of one kit is going towards the '59 hearse, and the front and rear suspension is going on a JoHan '66 hearse.

Right after I posted I figured you use the Whole thing.

I'm getting the Urge for more Hearses. B):D

looks good, i like them black nascar type wheels for it

you got that kit from me :P

the only ecto kit i got i started

Your right, I tried to get yours :)

That means I forgot who I traded for it.

I gotta keep better records..

The Nascar like wheels are nice rollers for around the shop but are 6 Lug.

They looked deeper on the box than they are in person.

Bro like my PM said bro go all out there is nothing holding you back but yourself ;) .

Thanks Man..

I'm Cuttin.

Just making sure I can still hold that big bumper on tight.

Then I'll stuff in the 90's Caddie engine compartment and Engine..

I'm saving the suspension height for last.

I picked up a Slew of wheels today.

Gold, Chrome, 13's-26's

whitewalls to black walls

Right now i'm just workin on givin the chassis a finished look.

Posted (edited)

Chassis is all finished and primed

I see I need to do some more fitting to the sides and build up a better exhaust system

Primeredchassis.jpg

With the full chassis and engine bay, I'm not going to be able to stuff the 24's into the fenders and keep it low. ;)

Wish I had some Gold 20s

Due to being egged on by the peanut Gallery.

I cut the hood open and used the 90s Revell Caddie Engine Bay and motor.

Unfortunately the Interior tub is not as tall as the Revell's so I lost the very top part of the fire wall and

added to the top of the inner fenders ????weird, eh?
