moonlite5hadow Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) A few may remember all my WIP threads, and how i never followed up on them. well, here's a (for now) pic-less update. My Veilside 300zx is totall scrapped, and re-worked. Now its got a nissan skyline R32 front bumper, and a new Vr38 (R35 skyline) motor with a single large (VERY large!) turbo that would measure about 8'' across on a 1:1 car. made my own exhaust using solder (same as turbo, charge piping, and fuel line and radiator hoses) and utalized a 350Z muffler and Nismo 350 tips. this is my first expirement with squadron putty (only brand my local shop carries) and its turning out very well. second wip is an 87 buick grand national, and anyone thats seen my past threads knows its going to be anything but normal. Done it up in a dark green paint scheeme (may still add a 2nd and 3rd color) and is a bonified hopping lowrider. its got the equivalent or 18'' cylinders in the back which puts the back bumper ~ 5 scale feet in the air, while the front bumper is mere inches (in 1:1) off the ground. third is a 1980 Monte Carlo (MPC's Class Action Kit) to build in honor of my buddy's 1:1 lowrider '80 Monte Carlo. this one is 3-wheelin. no paint on this yet, been spending all my time on the suspension. and the kit that caused all this builders block: Tamiya's Enzo Ferrari. so far, my best attempt and best detailed model, but no drive to finish it yet (interior, exterior and all that is painted. literally all there is left is ext. decals, and the clear parts.) its pearl white with flat black stock rims and white/black interior. one that a buddy of mine will work on jointly is one of the Aoshima R35 Skylines. it will have drag slicks, a twin turbo (BIG turbos again) Ford 427 V8, wheelie bar and 'chutes out back. the ONE project i finished is a Supra... sort of. another import drag project of mine, it was a supercharged motor from a revelle 79 camaro 3n'1 kit. i will post pics once i can find my camera's battery and charge it. until then, all i got is crumby cell phone pics which dont look well. moonlite5hadow Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Done some work on the Z. wont say what was done, because everything except paint touch ups is done. im really happy with how she turned out. its my first finished model that used putty, solder for turbo and piping, and smaller engine details (lower/upper radiator pipes and a fuel line), swapped in engine (well, just the intake), and a full custom exhaust. again, sorry for the poor pics. they're from my cell phone as i cannot for the life of me find the batteries for my DSLR... Color is Tamiya rattle can Brilliant orange. interior is IJN Grey and semigloss black. Rims are from an RX-7 kit... Aoshima i believe. Enjoy. remember, she's not totally done. Also finished my 09 GTR, but i wont get pics of that until i find my DSLR batteries. SEE BELOW FOR HIGHER RES PICS!!! Edited February 22, 2009 by moonlite5hadow
jbwelda Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 wow that is pretty cool! i am really diggin how youre adapting body panels from one model to another! like modern day tuner customizing! that black one is wicked too but its neat to see the nissan where it still looks reasonably stock, just off kinda. how did you get the body to sit so far over the chassis (low, i mean) or is that just posed with the wheels stuffed into the wheel wells? cool works.

I assume you're asking about the Nissan. On the back inside of the body there's a bracket that holds the chassis. all i did was simply place the chassis on TOP of the bracket instead of INTO it. the front just sat that low naturally with the new bumper, but would have sat higher on the stock bumper. I found my camera batteries, so i will be posting sharper, higher resolution pics in the morning, and a side-by-side or two with a stock 300zx i have to compare differences. also, since i have the camera working again, i'll have a few posts up in "under glass" with the black drag supra and my red GT-R. on the bench after i finish this Nissan (should be done by tomorrow night) is my 87 Buick Grand National as posted above. just gotta do the interior there and im done!
moonlite5hadow Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Ok, i got some higher resolutions pics. here they are, plus check out the under glass forum for my two finished projects for 2009! yuck... now i can really tell i need to clean up the black trim and the tail lights...
