Howard Cohen
Sunday was Heritagecon XV, an IPMS event organized to bring hobbyists together and raise funds for the museum. The doors opened at 9AM and about 11AM, they had to stop admitting people as they reached the capacity limits set by the fire department, 2,300 spectators! Over the next few hours they admitted people as others left. If you left to put something in your car, you had to get back in line and wait. By the time they started handing out awards at 3PM, the paid attendance had reached about 2,800! Interesting point, I have not heard any complaints, even with the wait. The parking lot and neighbouring lots were full as were some parts of the grassy areas. As a vendor, the crowd was great, they bought lots of stuff, again with no complaints, and all the vendors I talked to went home happy. I think this is the largest model event I have been to in Canada since I went to my first event in 1974. I did not take any photographs of the contest entries (over 1,000) as I was too busy but here is a link to one of the many who did, enjoy https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=100005971819446&set=a.2170696599806046 https://www.facebook.com/groups/117776364962937
