Claes Ericsson Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 (edited) Can someone help me identify what I've bought? Year and model? Got this from Too Many Projects some years ago. It probably had a designation when I bought it, and if I made a note of it(paper or mental), that is long gone..... Edited April 18, 2023 by Claes Ericsson Added question.
Anglia105E Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Hello Claes . . . What you have is a 1954 Airstream 19 foot trailer / caravan, but I don't know who the resin caster would have been. Here is a link to the sale of a real Airstream trailer, which might help you : https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2018-03-03/cars/ref-8-1954-airstream-19ft-caravan/ I am wanting to build an Airsteam trailer in 1:24 scale, to go with my 1:24 Moebius Hudson Hornet 1953, but I could not find a good resin body for this model, only the smaller Airstream Bambi. Claes Ericsson Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 David, great many thanks for the info. The body was cast/printed by Robert Burns AKA Too Many Projects. He produces intermittently 100s of mostly US cars 70s-80s, bodies, external trim and bucks for vacufoming only. This one was in a long list of rejects up for sale at the time. The only reason rejecting it was it was too narrow. There was another recject at the same that was too wide. Axle, springs, tow arrangement parts, taillights and rear bumper was included. He is on FB as Too Many Projects and it might be worthwile to reach out and ask, if this is something you could use? Claes

I will follow your advice, and contact Robert at Too Many Projects. I did manage to find a 3D print file at Cults3D for an Airstream trailer model, which I downloaded for free, but the body is too long for my 3D printer build plate . . . This is an interesting model of an unusual caravan. David
