Ajay Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Made a start on this one which is the Hasegawa kit - it's going to be OOB except for Aoshima SSR Mk 3 rims & Stretchwall tyres with lowered suspension. Because of the width of the rear tyres I've had to cut out the rear wheelarches which means I've lost the rear suspension attaching points - it won't be a problem as I'll be using brass rod for the rear axle. Paint is Citroen Posidion Blue metallic. Thanks for looking. ps/ sorry the pics are a bit dark Cheers Andy
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 This one's one of my all time favorite Japanese cars. Love the rims you put on it too.
gowjobs Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Love those early Celicas! Those deep wheels with the stretch-walls are DEAD ON!
Ken Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Just won an Aoshima 1600 GT liftback off of the bay. Now I get to in 1/24th what I never got to do to my 1:1. If I ever find another full-scale at a decent price, it is mine!!!!
MonoPed Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I wish there was a U.S. spec '76-77 GT liftback kit...then I could build my first car :-)
Ken Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 When you can find it, Aoshima has a liftback kit. That is what I just won off of Ebay. This is the second time I got one off of the bay. The first time the kit never showed up. The only thing needed to make it US spec is to change the dash board and interior
cruz Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Hey Ajay, you really should take a trip down to Puerto Rico, all the cars you choose to build are the favorites down there man

Now I have got to keep an eye out for one - thanx!
Ken Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I believe that they are JDM spec bumpers, but they shouldn't be that hard to modify. I am gonna have to dig back into the photo vault and figure out the difference. Here is the one that I won. I paid a bit more in shipping than I would like to, but I got a fair price on the kit. Of course, now Aoshima or Fujimi will release the kit  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...y0%3D%26fvi%3D1
MonoPed Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Thanx for the info... Definitely gotta keep an eye out for one!
Ajay Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 Ah nostalgia - I remember seeing these on the road as a kid & have always had a soft spot for 'em. Anyway here's the pics: Thanks for looking Cheers Andy
Wildrice Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I like the looks of the lil car. Very nice build.
Ken Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Hey Brian, I just got my winnings off of Ebay this afternoon. I will try and take some pics this evening and get them posted. The initial 'groking' of the kit looks promising. I didn't see a US spec dashboard, but there was a US style grill... The only downside is that it appears that the kit was motorized at one point.
Ajay Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 Thanks for the feeback on this one & the others I've posted recently - much appreciated Regards Andy
