bmorlok Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Well I was at an antique store in the Poconos and found this old original Hubley kit of a 1932 Chevrolet Roadster. I got it for $20 and it is missing a few pieces and the instructions. I am wondering what to do with it. It has all of the exterior body pieces I would need to assemble it, but it is missing the spare tires and half of the engine, plus a few other minor pieces. Should I just keep it in box for just a neat collectors item or should I try to get this thing together? I think there are a few re-made versions of this kit I could buy and build, or I could use the parts in that kit as replacements for the missing parts of this one. What would you do? Modelmartin Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 The value is not very high. These are common kits - take a look on Ebay. It isn't worth fussing over too much. I would try selling it for parts on Ebay or htorod it with some 1/20 parts.
LDO Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Make a 1/20 version of the "ZR-32" from a Car Modeler magazine how-to article back around 1991.
Jantrix Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 MPC put out a whole mess of 1/20 scale Corvettes "back in the day" With one of those kits and some imagination, there's a real neat hot rod waiting to be born.
