1965 Autocar logging truck FINISHED

Recommended Posts

This is the latest project, a 1965 Autocar logging truck. I'm using the A64B kit from AMT as a base. I moved the fenders and front axle forward and carved new headlight mounts. The truck is modeled after one that worked for Goodell logging in Siletz, Oregon in the 60's.

Here are a couple of pics of the truck. I still have a lot to do. The cab and hood are just sitting on the frame and not glued down. I cast all the wheels on the truck. I used an AMT trailer, but made a new reach and trailer body for it because the reach in the AMT kit is way too small.

Here's the final product. It came out pretty good. I added older style clearance lights to the cab. I hand painted the name on the door to match the photos I have. Any comments are welcome. My dad made the General mudflaps for me from a pattern he had made and then he cast them in rubber. I had to use the newer Autocar logos because I couldn't find a picture of the older Autocar Diesel emblem that should be on the A model conventional.
