I may also have some old R&Ts with Gemballa cars. I'll have to look.

Also look for Strosek cars, especially the 928. IIRC, Strosek once built a twin-supercharged 928 with Roots blowers; not centrifugal. It had two of them on one manifold and a hood scoop to clear them. They sat side-by-side, not stacked like that silly GTO.

does this avalanche look better. i think it does, but no kit for them yet. so i want the porsche 930 gembella avalanche.

Oh, I'm so glad you asked. NO. It's hideous. Just like most "tuned" exotics. I'm glad I got that out of my system. But hey- whatever floats your boat. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing.

i also caught this KEI CLASS car bug. in japan kei class cars have an engine size limte of 660cc. they are small and cool as hell.

Cool cars, but let's keep this specific to Koenig please? I used to like those Gemballa Porsches, but more I see it, the more I think it's ugly. The newer Gemballa's are nicer, but I still prefer Koenig.

The Gemballa like the other RoG Premium kits were $45 brand new in 1988 - 1990 time frame when I first bought some.

Actually, Koenig never did a Nissan. Notice it says Koenig "STYLE"? It just means that the body kit on that resembles that of KS-style of aerodynamics. If was actually a KS brand model, it would no doubt have their logo on it. Not sure I like it or not.

i agree nice model! is that a 935?

Yes. Tamiya kit. There are several on Ebay right now. Be careful which 935 you get; not all had the same body work. The pic above has the rear fenders like the Koenig car you posted...well, same basic style, anyway.

Have you seen the ultimate Koenig Special; the Porsche 962 road car?

koenig296420jy.jpg

Personally, I prefer the Dauer 962 road car, but this is a Koenig thread.

My version in 1/24:

LOL! I Wonder if your the guy that purchased my 962 Mini-Z body on ebay. I started that very project a while back converting Kyosho's 1/28 scale Mini-Z 962 body into the KS C62. I had a friend of mine from another forum make some custom decals for me to bring the C62 to life. Wondering if it was you LDO?

Just sent payments in for the 1/24 KS Testarossa, the Testarossa Spyder, and Lamborghini Countach. Plus, I just picked this up at HWJapan for less than 20 plus EMS delivery.

They had one left in stock, but my only concerne was that was last updated on 2008/16/01. So hopefully they still have it and it'll be mine. They will inform me if it's available before sending payment.

Gonna cancell this one as I just found it on ebay along with the Diablo from same seller.

No, not me. I have to tell the truth; I'm making mine look more like a Dauer car.

Dauer Porsche 962 road car:

962_dauer10.jpg

Just do a Google search for Dauer 962. Several were built. I like the yellow car with black roof, but this photo is a good 3/4 view. Each car is slightly different.

I think I like the Koenig better, look's alot closer to the real 962. Interesting how the Dauer 962's doors are one peice, where as Koenig's is two peice with the glass bit going gull-wing style, and the rest of it going lambo style.

I just snatched off ebay today two more KS 1/24 scale model kit's. I found listed the Koenig Diablo, and the Koenig 911 bi-turbo. Still looking for 928 and Mercedes 500.

They are both real 962s, just modified by different people.

I don't remember if it was Koenig or not, but somewhere I have a sketch of a proposed 962 road car from an early '90s magazine. It had design cues from the 959; the headlights, the "hoop" rear wing, and vents/intakes at all four corners. It was really wild.

Does not sound like a Koenig design but could be. I was visiting Essen AutoShow in '97 because my Dad has a very unusual car and he was asked to show it there. I was excited cause I was really anxious to see Koenig in person but sadly they didn't have anything knew to show and so they were not presant that year.

Essen Auto Show is one kick-azz motor show and that is where Koenig debutes their new cars. Man was I really disapointed! But, everything else about the show was awesome, so disapointment quickly went away! LOL! ;)
