FujimiLover Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) Well sadly I can't post this under the workbench thread anymore since it's well, FINISHED! YEAH! Turned out pretty sweet! The front sit's a little higher than I like, but I didnt' want to spend the efforts on lowering this one, so it is as is. Edited March 14, 2009 by FujimiLover

Nick F40 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Like I said in the other thread, I love this, so clean. Well done and love the color.
FujimiLover Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 Thank you. Unfortunetly, I can not tell you what the color is as it was custom mixed by a local paint supplyer. I had recently made a new tail-fin for an Airwolf RC helicopter and needed to match the paint with the rest of the heli. So I took the old tail-fin which was poorly un-scale like compared to the rest of the fuselage, and had it matched. Anyway, I liked the gray so much I thought it would suit some of my cars and sure enough, it really suited the RX7 well.
Foxer Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Looks great! Those wheels really set off the paint.
FujimiLover Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 Thank you. In all car projects, the wheels is what makes or brakes the overall finish. They've gotta go with the theme.
FujimiLover Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Thank you, I will do the black in the exaust pipe, but I think it's too late for the headlights. I agree with you 100% on the window frame and I think it completes the details. In my RC car forum that I'm a member too, I've seen lot's of custom bodies that have superb paint jobs, but more than half of theme look incomplete because alot of the modelers dont' bother with that window trim. The only time I ignore that window trim is when the car is black anyway! Would you really see flat black or even semi-gloss black against gloss black? Maybe the flat black, but still is it worth it on a black model? Doing the black trim on white cars has always been scarey for me as it's soooooooo easy to make a mistake and have it stick out like a sore thumb. OH, about the headlight. I'm not sure if all of those type's of headlights have an outline. Some do like on the KS-Ferrari models, but I dont' think it does here as the instructions never applied it. There was no markings on the lense to apply it either so that's probably why I left it alone. Edited March 15, 2009 by FujimiLover
