Dingo Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 This Charger is part of my year long model building project and will be taking some time to build as well the engine is a secret and as I've said on other forums no amount of guessing will get me to tell you what will be under the bonnet (hood). The car is gloss black with a white interior BUT I'm not sure wot wheels to put n it as yet. Car does have boot lid now fitted. Dingo
RJWood Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Welcome to the Forum Dingo ! Nice start on your Charger. But I just gotta take a guess on the engine, 1300cc Volkswagon, LOL Have fun with your project, and post more pic's as you progress.
Dingo Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Thanks Ron, but no cudos pn the VW motor as I said U'll have to wait until it's finished U can guess all ya want it ain't going to get it out of me. Dingo
RodneyBad Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I can't tell but it looks like there is a Daytona nose on it? I can see the fender scoops. A street Racer?
Dingo Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Zukiholic iy has the Daytona nose cone as it is a Daytona Dodge but not a street racer more a street car/show pony/trailer queen but could be used as a salt lake racer as I'm into that as well. The motor will be revealed the day the whole motorhome, trailer and car build is finshed sorry guys you going to wait to wait a year for that. Dingo
Troy_audi0 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Nice thats the same kit im working on, keep it up! my next is a VW Bug =)
Dingo Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 The build continues slowly here it is with the boot lid fitted and part of the interior, man this is one hard one for me as I want to finish it but have to go slowly as I'm waiting for the rims & tyres. Rear Spoiler is the tall one from the Daytona kit cut down into a small wing type and it has been painted gloss white. Dingo
diymirage Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 gotta tell you, when i first read you cut down the spoiler i was lile WTF but now that it is on there it looks pretty good reminds me of the 3000GTs are you gonna be adding more white accents to the body ?
BigGary Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 gotta tell you, when i first read you cut down the spoiler i was lile WTF but now that it is on there it looks pretty good reminds me of the 3000GTs are you gonna be adding more white accents to the body ? OOPS! Your in trouble now. Mr. Obama says nobody can have black cars. Sorry, you'll have to repaint it. Gary
Dingo Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) Yea right Gary, I cut down the rear wing coz I already have one of these cars and for the fact I wanted something different & Mr Obama can go jump unless he's prepared to buy the paint for me and send it to Australia in our Prime Minister's luggage while he's there. Black cars when kept clean are the best because they look just sooooo good and yes I will be placing the white accent up the back panel but maybe without the Daytona name in it, it depends on how it works out, diymirage. Dingo Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 OK More detail has been added but as I have said in previous parts of this build it ia a slow one, here I have added detail to the window and taillinghts and soon the wheel arches will be done as well. Also the wing has been remounted as I found it to be a little out of position. Dingo
diymirage Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 looking nice dingo just a thought though, what if you would mount the winge a tad furter forward so you can "wrap" the daytona striping all the way around the trunk and have the wing sit inside it so it seems as if its part of teh striping , being white and what not just my 2 cents, i think it would look more authentic that way
Dingo Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 diymirage, I had thought of doing that but with the wing being supglued into position and that being an after thought I didn't want to rip the paint work off so I just set it up like it is. Thanks for the thought though it just a good suggestion. Dingo
